Who is the front runner for the 2012 Republican nomination? Newt Gingrich? Ron Paul? Mitt Romney?

The question

Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee are certainly not running. I’m assuming Sarah Palin will not run either since her negatives are so high in so many polls.

Ron Paul really polled the best against Obama in a 2012 hypothetical matchup from CNN last week.

So who is the front runner for the GOP nomination at this point?

It’s odd that both Romney and Gingrich previously supported an individual mandate (the same individual mandate Obama used in his healthcare bill). This would seem to be slightly sticky when trying to defeat Obama.

There’s also Tim Pawlenty, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Mitch Daniels and some other people….

So who do you reckon is the front runner for the GOP 2012 nomination?
